Actress Emilia Clarke told Game of Thrones executives that she would no longer be doing nude scenes and believes sex scenes should be more subtle.

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke said she found the nude scenes she had to record in the series "difficult".

Speaking on actor Dax Shepard's podcast, she claimed that she "cried in the bathroom" before filming, but added that this would have occurred "whether or not we had nude scenes".

The actress' role as Daenerys Targaryen required her to take off her clothes quite often in the early seasons.

Clarke says he believed this was necessary for the story, but noted that the series "would be very different" if it had been made today.
