A Pennsylvania woman is at the center of controversy after multiple reports confirmed her involvement in a deadly crash that claimed the life of three men. 21-year-old Jayana Tanae Webb of Eagleville, has been charged with third-degree murder, homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, DUI, and related charges in connection with a fatal crash that claimed the life of PA State Troopers On Monday before 1 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-95, Janaya’s vehicle struck the men.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are interesting. Reports state a law enforcement source advised that state police had pulled over Jayana’s vehicle for driving at an accelerated rate but let her go after receiving a call that a pedestrian was walking on I-95. Jayana confirmed the report on Twitter by writing, “Why the cop pull me & he says im doing 110 mph in a 50.”

Shortly after being let go, Jayana drove off and her SUV, unfortunately, struck the troopers and pedestrian on the left side of the highway as they walked back to the police vehicle. Reports state the impact of the crash knocked both troopers into the northbound lanes and ripped both driver’s side doors off of their SUV.

To make matters worse, Jayana previously tweeted that she was the “best-drunk driver” in January. Things aren’t looking good for the woman. After appearing in front of a judge yesterday, she was denied bail at her arraignment and will remain behind bars until her next court hearing, expected for April 5th.

During the hearing, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office said Jayana gave a post-Miranda Rights statement to officers explaining she was drinking Strawberry Hennessy before the crash. Although no bail is set, Jayana’s lawyer argued that she is very young, a first-time offender, and posed no danger to the public. He also argued that if she remained jailed while awaiting trial, it could take one to three years.

The judge disagreed with her lawyer and sided with the District Attorney’s Office, stating, “I do see that there is a public safety issue here.” Roommates, we will keep you updated as more information becomes available with this case.
